2004 NESA Scholarships

Do you qualify for one of the scholarships provided by the National Eagle Scout Association? Requirements for the scholarships available are listed below.

You must:

  1. Be currently registered as a member of the Boy Scouts of America.
  2. Have attained the Eagle Scout rank, or have verified that your application for Eagle Scout rank has been received at the national office.
  3. Graduate from high school and enter college in the year for which you apply for a scholarship (i.e., 2004 high school graduates apply by the deadline of February 28, 2004). Scholarships are awarded only to those who graduate from high school in the calendar year in which scholarships are presented. Exception: Those Scouts whose Eagle Scout board of review is held between March 1 and July 31 of their high school graduation year may apply in the following year.
  4. Provide a transcript of your high school grades covering the last six semesters.
  5. Have an SAT score of at least 1090 and/or and ACT score of 26. These scores must be reported on an official test sheet or on the high school transcript, and must be submitted with the application. Applications will not be considered if the minimum scores are not met. (Note: To meet the test score requirement, you may use the highest scores from each test date shown on your high school transcript)
  6. Have demonstrated leadership ability in Scouting and a strong record of participation in activities outside Scouting.
  7. Provide a statement clearly telling why you believe you need financial aid. You and your parent must sign this statement.
  8. Have the endorsement of a volunteer or professional Scout leader who knows you personally. This is the only endorsement required. Endorsements from teachers, counselors, etc., should not be included.

Incomplete applications will not be considered.

To obtain applications for the 2004 Eagle Scout scholarship program, contact your local council service center and request form No. 58-702. Or, you may write to

Applications must be postmarked no later than midnight, February 28, 2004, and received by the National Eagle Scout Association no later than March 5, 2004. The Eagle Scout Service and NESA are not responsible for postal service time frames and/or delays.
